Andrea is founding and managing director of the Max Planck Institute for the Structure and Dynamics of Matter in Hamburg. He heads the Condensed Matter Department located in the Center for Free-Electron Laser Science (CFEL).


He's a Professor of Physics at the University of Hamburg and at the University of Oxford.
